Prof. José Laranjo is the new Coordinator of EuroCastanea - European Chestnut Network

CITAB researcher José Laranjo is the new Coordinator of EuroCastanea - European Chestnut Network. EuroCastanea is the representative structure of the chestnut value chain at European level and currently includes representatives from Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, being suported by the Assembly of European Regions producing fruit, vegetables and plants (A.R.E.F.L.H.). It aims to promote sustainable strategies for the chestnut sector, namely in terms of agricultural policy, strenghten the link between research and the sector needs, to apply to Eurpean funded projects and to organize annual meetings. José Laranjo is professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, is the president of RefCast- Portuguese Chestnut Association and is the coordinator of the ISHS' Chestnut Group.
