Analysis and Modelling of Environmental Data for Natural Hazards Risk Assessments

The main research objective of this project are to develop, test and use different methods for the space-time mapping, analysis and modelling of environmental data with focus on natural hazards in Portugal and Switzerland, which may include:(i) time sequences analysis;(ii) scan statistics;(iii) space time clustering;(iv) susceptibility mapping (e.g., Self-organizing Maps, SOM, Random Forest, RF, Support Vector Machines, SVM, Gaussian, Mixture Models, GMM).
