CITAB wins NewFood competition 2020

CITAB researchers won the first 3 places in the 2020 edition of NewFood competition- Innovative food products, promoted by UTAD.
We are pleased to announce another recognition of the innovation carried out by researchers from our Center, who won the first three places in the 2nd edition of the NewFood - Innovative food products contest, promoted by UTAD. The first prize, with a monetary value of € 4,000, was awarded to the Mousse D'Oliva project (food product composed of traditional varieties of olives incorporating other traditional products - Dry Fig, Honey from Terra Quente, Aromatic herbs), developed by researchers Sónia Gomes, Irene Gouvinhas and Ana Barros. The second prize, with a monetary value of € 2,000, was awarded to the Healthy Gums project (sugar-free gums produced from Aljezur sweet potatoes, Cherovia, Banana da Madeira, Avocado, Pineapple from the Azores, Portuguese cherry and Citrus from the Algarve ) developed by researchers Irene Gouvinhas, Ana Barros and Rita Martins. The third prize, with a monetary value of € 1,500, was awarded to the Broa Shiitake project (cornbread with smoked shiitake), developed by researchers Sara Reis, Guilhermina Marques and Juliana Garcia.
