REGADOURO Project Featured on Porto Canal
An opportunity to publicise the work carried out as part of the project
On July 9, CITAB researcher Ana Novo Barros appeared on Porto Canal, where she presented the REGADOURO project and highlighted its contribution to promoting more sustainable water resource management in viticulture.
The REGADOURO project aims to deepen understanding of the reuse of treated wastewater for vineyard irrigation, while promoting the use of the nutrients present in this water and contributing to greater environmental and economic efficiency in the wine sector.
Developed by a consortium comprising ADVID- Vine and Wine Cluster, Águas do Norte, Poças- Sociedade Vinícola Terras de Valdigem, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), and Veolia Portugal, the project involves the implementation of a pilot facility to evaluate the use of treated wastewater for vineyard irrigation.
Participation in Porto Canal provided an opportunity to publicise the work carried out as part of the project and raise public awareness of the potential of water reuse as an innovative and sustainable solution to address the challenges of water scarcity.
