XI Iberian Congress of Ichthyology
CITAB co-organised the XI Iberian Congress of Ichthyology.
đ 11th Iberian Congress of Ichthyology
đ UTAD (Vila Real)
CITAB co-organised this leading international scientific event, held for the first time at UTAD between 23 and 27 June.
Under the guiding theme âWater and habitat for healthy fishâ, the Congress brought together dozens of researchers, academics and renowned experts on the UTAD campus. The outstanding scientific programme featured several internationally recognised keynote speakers, whose presentations focused the debate on urgent solutions for biodiversity conservation, the sustainable management of aquatic ecosystems and responses to global climate challenges.
One of the highlights of the congress was the formal signing of two strategic cooperation agreements: one between SIBIC and the American Fisheries Society (AFS), in the presence of its vice-president Miguel Garcia; and another between SIBIC and the Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI), in the presence of its president, David MacKenzie.
The organising committee would like to express its sincere thanks to all participants, speakers, institutional partners and sponsors. The success of this initiative reinforces CITABâs position at the forefront of environmental research and consolidates its active role in cross-border and global scientific cooperation.
