SIMBION - MONITORIZAÇÃO DA BIODIVERSIDADE NO NORTE DE PORTUGAL

The SIMBioN approach to biodiversity monitoring in the North of Portugal is based on the collection of field data concerning habitats, plants and animals through the application of standard protocols in selected sites across the region. There are two types of monitoring in SIMBioN: surveillance monitoring, aimed at providing representative data on status and at detecting trends; and targeted monitoring, aimed at testing pre-established hypotheses of the effects of selected drivers of biodiversity change.
