Avaliação de medidas de recompensação e rehabilitação na Ribeira de Odelouca, Algarve, Portugal

The RICOVER project aims to define and implement strategies and methodologies for the restoration, protection and conservation of rivers in Southwest Europe, based on findings from pilot studies that will be carried out in participating southern European countries (Portugal and Spain).

Collaborator -  responsible for the evaluation of requalification measures in the River Odelouca, Algarve, Portugal based on quantitative, microhabitat level sampling of the benthic macroinvertebrate community, physiochemical parameters and hydromorphological characterization (River Habitat Survey) of selected  reaches (control versus intervention) to monitor structural and functional responses of aquatic communities to requalification measures. This work is being carried out in collaboration with Dr. João Oliveira, a CITAB postdoctoral student who is carrying out parallel studies on the River Odelouca fish fauna.
