European
Atlantic-Positive - Conservation of Atlantic pollination services and control of the invasive species Vespa velutina.
Vespa velutina is a major predator of bees and other pollinators.
It was accidentally introduced into Europe and it poses a threat to biodiversity. At present it can be found in the majority of Atlantic regions.
The main objective of the Atlantic-Positive project is to contribute to the preservation of pollination services through the development of integrated approaches for the control of Vespa velutina and minimize the impact of this invasive species for ecosystems and for the socioeconomic development of the Atlantic Area.
This will be achieved through the creation of protected areas in rural and peri-urban natural environments and the establishment of a transnational cooperation network for the implementation of joint activities.
